In my opinion, there are many elements that draw me into an ad like, bright colors, attractive font, models used to sell the product, and how they get me to buy it. Bright colors and attractive font draw the buyer’s eyes to the ad. Therefore, they pay more attention to it and actually want to spend the time to read the ad and maybe even buy the product. They can also try and make me want to a buy a product by getting me emotionally involved. For example, someone who is a sucker for puppies may only buy a dog because an ad made the dog look sad and lonely. They can also throw in some discounts or deals to draw you in. Emotionally drawing someone in is a very good way to advertise a product.
Some things that make me pay close attention to the ad are some popular visual objects such as, a famous actor or actress, a character of a famous brand, or a popular product that everyone needs. As a teenage girl I would pay more attention to an ad with Taylor Launter selling a perfume bottle, than an ad of President Obama selling a political book. It also all depends on the audience and what kind of people you are trying to attract. If you want a certain population to buy your product, you must use elements in your ad that will draw your desired audience in.
So by drawing your customer in, as a result, they will always remember your product. Thinking of funny mascots and different ways to get your ad noticed is key to having people remember your ad. Just like the gecko in the geico car insurance commercials. If you go up to people and as them the first thing that pops up in their head when you say car insurance, majority would say geico and even maybe sing the jingle along with it. As you can see all of these elements are crucial when developing a successful ad.
